question regarding something on a LG 8500 . 9900

i was brought some phones from another shop that they were not sucessful in flashing. stuck in the constant power cycle. all i did was place in emergency mode and load stock firmware.

at this point, they stay on, but service required will not go away. PRL will not stick and I also noticed .eri files missing from both. I have good .eri files to reload, but I cant figure out how to only load a new .eri file via LG Download.

The upgrade tab has option for .eri, but I would have to also load a bin/scr file, which should be unneccesary. is there another way to reload stock .eri files in order to get these out of "Service Required"
 
If you have a .qcn of a working model, you can hex edit it to replace the working phone's ESN/MEID with the service required one's.
 
Just getting in on this since I have a 9400 that I did the same too and is stuck in the same mode. I figured I needed scr though. Please do tell if you get it. Thanks.
 
having the same problem with a 9800. it dont show a prl even after i flash it. i tried cdma workshop, patagonia, and lg download with different prls. and it just says service required on the screen.

I have a chocolate layin around that has the same issue, ive tried so many things that i think its messed up beyond repair, the color of the screen turned crazy like green white, looks like a freaking trip on acid or something, no prl, no eri. I reflashed firmware few times, "repaired" esn few times, tried different prls, wrote eri, wrote 8500 script file and even wrote script files from different model 9900 i think it was, i was like fukk it im sure that last one its what messed it up.

anyhow this started by me trying to fix it when the phone was working fine but everytime i opened the picture album it would constantly reboot i try reflashing the firmware maybe wrong firmware version or something, i ended having to pay for it. i shoulve just left it alone.

You can load just the ERI look to the left of lg downloader at the bottom you can click that grey thing to bring up another row of items you can READ and WRITE ERI'S

But thats not your problem... IF YOU FLASHED THE PHONE IN EMERGENCY MODE AND CAN NOT GET PRL TO LOAD GUESS WHAT YOU HAVE NO MEID/ESN ON THE PHONE IT IS ALL 0's this has been covered many times before.....

Check ESN once esn is verified on the phone, write ERI and SCR then PRL
 
And to Mrcricket23,
Your problem wasnt with the frimware of the phone but a currpted IMAGE file on the phone... Upgrading the BIN and Flashing a new BIN wouldnt have gotten rid of it because lg downloader backs up the images and replaces them back on the phone... The best thing in that sitiuation would have been to load bitpim and deleted all the pictures in the filesystem using bitpim and then checked the album again to see if it would load..
