LG KS360 wont display pictures in threaded view?

I recently got a KS360, but when in threaded view there are no pictures of the senders (just a black square in a silver frame) even though I have set pictures for their picture id - my picture doesn't display either.

As well as this in threaded view all the messages begin with "!-!-!" but in general view it doesn't appear.

any idea?
