LG Flatron M2762D running at 720p while playing 1080p games?

I got this TV yesterday and when I turn my PS3 on it runs at 1080p but when I play games that are 1080p it runs at 720p ie GTA4...how do I get it to run at 1080p? GTA 4 definitely runs at 1080p because it says on the back of the case
