LG "Chocolate XV8500 or Samsung A950

I'm trying to get a new phone for my friend but can't decide what would fit best. I need a phone that is on Telus, has a camera, and also functions as an mp3 player. When I say mp3 player I would like a usable one, this means media controls, actually headphone that sound reasonable, no less than 1 gig limit and overall something that is usable instead of gimmick. As far as I have been able to tell the Samsung A950 and LG Chocolate are the best options, so I wanted to know poeples opinions on these phones? Which is better at playing mp3s? Do the touch buttons really effect the chocolate as bad as I think they might?
 
there is a problem going around with the chocolates send key going out on them,, ive replaced about 5 chocolates already because of this problem, i personally own a 950 and its the best phone i have ever had, the only time i see a 950 with a problem is if the owner got it wet, the only problem with the 950 is that its going to phaseout, in the next couple months, the chocolate aka vx8500 has alot of bugs..
