LG Chocolate on Cricket Conversion Problem

I have been searching the forums like crazy looking for the way to do this. I have all the software installed. I was able to load the new PRL and manually activate the phone. It makes and receives calls great. But now for the hard part...

I have modified the paramtable.fil file but when I enter NV edit the options that I am supposed to edit are not available for editing. I have tried using a few different .dll files but I cant get into it.

If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for your time.

the options ur sposed to edit u cant??? on nv edit tab of lg download ? ? ? you shold be able too. wierd. ? ? lols im lost, call a doctor
 
I'm having the same problem. I own an envy and a chocolate. The envy works fine (internet & everything) I just can't get the chocolate to work. The sections in NV Edit are different. If someone can help i would appreciate it
 
I am using the actual 8500 dll file but the spaces are greyed out for the config areas I need to edit. I saw where some folks on here had used different dll's to change the parameters in those sections but none of my dll's will do it. I am using the 1.6 so I will switch to 1.3 and see what happens. Thank you for the advice...

yea, use 1.3 if thats what you're experiencing. just be careful with the DLL. just because the name changes doesn't mean thats the same parameter.

Voice_Codec = wap.mycricket.com

common sense would say thats not the voice codec, but actually the proxy :)
 
lols, i didnt know that =D i am puttin 2 much n fo in my head, its gonna implode from being empty and not being able to remeraber any of it cuz theres to much. :p

EVERYONE LISTEN! :P lols, im trying keep little notes on note pad, but ugh. think imma need start organizing soon, got like 8 differnt notes in a folder with all my progz, sum 1 could get lost trying figure out wuts wut. maybe i should rename then to something besides NewDocument1 2 3 4 5 6 ect.... =D
 
I'm having the same problems. I have an 8500, a Rumor, and a VX5200, and I can't access the parameters I need to change for any of them. I'm using 1.3, and have tried the dll's for the specific phones (except the Rumor) as well as many others. Help!
 
OK, I figured it out. I have multiple versions of Windows on my flash box & LG Download was installed on a different version of Windows than I was booted in to. Not real sure how it worked at all, but it did.
 
Ok.......I'm trying to edit the paramtable1 using bitpim but all I'm getting is an error msg reading: access to this file has been blocked on this phone by the phone provider. This msg. was not coming up prior to activating the phone on cricket and i'm lost as to why it is now.

I've also tried using LG Download v 1.3 with the 8500 dll, but the phone power cycles at 77% when the LG Download is reading nv info. So, I tried the 9900 dll with no luck either. I've flashed an 8500 using the 8500 dll and I've flashed a vx10000 using the 9900 dll....so I know they are functioning correctly.

Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks in advance....
 
You should really mention the model of the phone you are working on. LACK of information doesnt help you or us to figure out what you are doing wrong.
 
Paramtable was probably accessible b4 it was on Cricket only because the phone was probably in Offline D mode. And as far as NV Edit goes, get LGD 1.3.6.3 (best version) and it will probably fix that problem.
