Hello.

The past two weeks I switched my lexapro 20 mg from morning to evening. I have been having a lot of anxiety lately. Do you think the switch may have something to do with it?

I have been taking lexapro since Deceraber.

Maybe I need to try a new med?

I've been taking 10 mg. of Lexapro since January and have always taken it at bedtime. I suppose it's possible for it to cause more anxiety when you switch from am to pm. Some days I think it works great for my anxiety and other days not so much. Have you gained any weight from it? Will your Dr. prescribe Xanax to take when your anxiety is really bad? I take 0.25 mgs. of that when my anxiety is off the charts. Hope you start feeling better. Sue

It could be because you switched it the time it takes to activate in your system is off from what it used to be (so when you're awake you're feeling more anxiety).

I was prescribed lexapro (well cipralex which is the exact same thing, just another brand name) and I had to stop taking it after a week because it was making me too tired and I'm in the middle of exams. I'm going to start up again on sunday after my last exam! Anyway, my psychiatrist also prescribed klonopin (0.5mg) to be taken twice a day when needed. I have to say, i take that at night sometimes and I feel great the next day -- I don't feel tired at all and i feel like my non-anxious self. Maybe you could look into something like that for when your anxiety is really bad?

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies.

I started taking it at night because of how tired I felt all day and how anxious I felt in the mornings. I thought taking it at night may calm my morning anxiety.

Nope.

I have been prescribed clonazepam (klonopin) but I am worried about side effects etc of that and mostly I am breastfeeding my 10 month old for comfort now and then so I don't want that to get to her.

I may completely ween her though and try the clonazepam now.

And yes, I HATE gaining the weight. I have such low self-confidence right now and gaining weight is not helping any. I am CONSTANTLY hungry and am addicted to sweets.

AAAAAAACK!
