Lexapro question.. Please Help!

So I've been taking 10 mg of lexapro for almost a month now. I was taking 5 mg before that for a couple of weeks. The doctor said 5 mg isn't going to doing anything for your weight. Now I know your not supposed to drink on lexapro, but what if I just didn't take it the day I drink. I did this a month and a half ago when I was on the 5 mg and everything was fine. I'm not trying to sound stupid but I just really want to have some funny during Christmas break feel me?
 
i'm having a glass of wine right now and i'm on lexapro 10mg. i've only been on it 8 weeks and hae drank wine a couple times..
i notice no difference.. i was on paxil for 5 yrs and i drank wine almost daily.. i like my one or two glasses in the evening.. i know what your saying.. its not like i need to drink but i dont want this stupid panic disorder and taking medications totally ruining my whole life. i want to be able to be normal and have a glass or two of wine every now and then.. i know when i was on the paxil i told my doc i drank that much and she said it was fine as long as i dnt binge..
 
I'm not a doctor and I know you're not supposed to drink of Lexpro but when there is something coming up I do drink anyway. I haven't noticed any difference but Lexapro works well for me. I didn't have alot of side effects except for the dreadful LOSS OF SEX DRIVE!!! That's what I would be more worried about. Again, I haven't had any problems with drinking on the medication but everyone is different. Good Luck.
 
i just drank yesterday on it and seemed to be fine... only thing is i kept worrying because i took aleeve earlier that day...
 
I just started up on lexapro again 2 weeks ago. hasn't been doing anything. i wa son it a year ago and went up to 25 mgs and it still did nothing, but im seeing a different doctor now and she started me on it again. I'm supposed to go back and see her this week., to either up my dose, or try soemthign else.

Anyways i drank on it back then and was fine. I'm talking a LOT , cause when i drink i drink a ton ( 10-12 beers) Nothing ever happened except i would get "weird" as my frienRAB would put it, ha. Of course everyone is different But my anxiety was still so bad i had to drink still to take the edge off when hanging out with frienRAB. Everybody is different and what is ok for some people wont be for others, since it can make the side effects even worse.

It has to be hard on the liver as well ( does lexapro pass through the liver actually?) But i have recently had an abdominal ultrasound done and my liver is fine. So no damage done from all that partying.
 
Read the Lexapro insert. It warns that alcohol use can heighten any sleepiness/tiredness side effects. It does NOT say that you shouldn't drink. Plus, for most the normal dose of Lexapro is taken in the morning. So, unless you're slamming drinks for breakfast you'll be fine.
