Levaquin Reaction

Anyone develop tendinitis after taking Levaquin?

My story:

In Feb, I had pneumonia and was prescribed Levaquin. I was also prescribed Hydrocodone cough syrup for my severe cough. After about 8 days, I was much better and quit taking the cough syrup. I noticed that my whole body hurt horribly. It was milder when I was taking the cough syrup (which helped the pain as well) so I thought it was aches associated with being sick. I have now been off of the Levaquin for almost 3 months and am still experiencing a lot of pain. I have never had these issues before. 3 mos later, it is still HORRID. I hurt all of the time. I cannot tolerate NSAIDS because they cause me to bruise badly.

I would really love to know if others have had this happen! Thanks!

Levaquin use has been attributed to tendon tears, especially achilles tendon ruptures. So, you could have experienced some sort of tendon issue.

There are several lawsuits going on right now against the manufacturer.

One tablet of Levaquin did the same to me and I hurt for weeks. It will go away but slowly. Make sure you tell all doctors you see that you cannot tolerate Levaquin.

I had a severe allergic reaction to levaquin when i was given it while in the hospital - i immediately broke out in hives at the injection site and they stopped it immediately. i googled levaquin after that and found nothing positive to read about it...i would google it if i were you and you may be surprised and dismayed and the negative info about this drug...

I only lasted three days on Levaquin before the tendonitis hit. I had no ruptures but it took months for the pain to subside.

Be sure to avoid all drugs in that class, referred to as the quinolones or fluoroquinolones: Levaquin, Avelox, Cipro and their generics.
