Letters to Boot Camp recruits?

I am sending my friend who is in boot camp for the navy, a letter and some cyanide and happiness cartoons. The only thing I'm concerned about is some of them have profanity in them, and I was wondering if he could get in trouble for that? Doesn't he have to open his mail in front of someone? Will they see?

He will not get in trouble fro profanity cartoons, only pornography, and prohibited items like candy, cigarettes stuff like that.

he wont get in trouble! you only have to open your mail in front of you instructors if they are bulky items, not letters though
