I first saw it when I was about 10-11, I watched it over and over, I still watch it occasionally, it's brilliant over the top and doesn't take itself serious for a second

I'd like to hear your opinions

Its in the Top 3 of John Carpenter films for me,along with Halloween and The Thing

"Just remember what old Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big old storm right in the eye and says, "Give me your best shot. I can take it" :D

Great movie...it was considered a flop on release, the critics didn't like it because the concept of mixing disparate genres such as martial arts, horror, comedy and action just seemed to confuse them. Thankfully times have changed.

It's when I first got a crush on Kim Catrall :D

Excellent film. I'd say it was my favourite from Carpenter. Comedy, Kung Fu and Magic. It can't fail :)

I haven't seen it for a while, but I have seen it many times before and it just never gets old for me.There are just so many amazing action scenes, and the one liners come thick and fast.I probably think of a line from this film every other day, even now.The special effects may seem a bit dated now,but that just adRAB to the cheesy element that made it so enjoyable in the first place. The scene where the guy's rubber head expanRAB and explodes is one of the funniest ever!

Crouching Tiger,Hidden Dragon was the first wire-fu movie to break it big in the west, but this was ten years ahead of that.

I am actually glad that it was such a minor attraction at the box office at the time, because otherwise there would have been several sequels, copycat films, and by now,a remake. All which would have diminished the legacy somewhat from this unique and outrageously enjoyable film.

"Now I'm not sayin' that I've been everywhere and done everything, but I do know that this a pretty amazing planet we live on,and a man would have to be some kind of fool to think we're all alone in this universe...."

One of my favourite lines,EVER!!!

It's a terrible film but it's so bad that it's good! It's like a car crash, I know I shouldn't watch and I know it'll scar me but yet I cannot look away.

One of my favorite parts is when Jack goes to get his knife from his boot, and it flies out of his hand and he goes off to look for it, and when he comes back and shouts "HA!", Wang has already mopped up all of the baddies

class man

I'll never tire of this movie

It's such a great film. Some of the dialogue is just fantastic. Here are a few of my favourites.

"Afternoon ma'am, Henry Swanson's my name, and excitement's my game"

"I know, there's a problem with your face"

"Cash or charge?"
"Oh cash I guess, I mean it's not deductible is it?"

"What's in the bottle Egg, magic potion?"
"Yeah"
"Good, thought so.What do we do, drink it?"
"Yeah"
"Good, thought so"

"Oh no, please what is that? Don't tell me..."

"Now this really p***es me off to no end!"

It's a film that's aged really well - when it first came out, no-one really knew what to make of it because the Chinese films that inspired it hadn't really made their way to the West at that point (these were still the relatively early days of VHS), but now everyone gets the homages and refererences and it looks a lot better as a result...
