Lets be fair to Lovefilm

After deservedly slating it a few months ago on here I think its only fair to give credit where its due and state the service has much improved. My dvRAB are nearly always being turned around in the same day they receive them now.
 
Interesting to hear that they are getting better now... I was with them for a long time but left because they never sent me any discs from box sets (I was stuck halfway through a series of NYPD Blue for months on end!) and I also kept on getting damaged/dirty discs.

I've joined a different DVD club, Mymoviestream, but their selection of films seems to be much smaller... so, if Lovefilm is really improving, I may go back in the future.
 
I've subscribed to Blockbuster online DVD rental on and off for a few years now, and never had any issues with them. Can someone explain to me whether LoveFilm is that much better to justify the extra quid a month (comparing the 3-disc unlimited deal)? Is their selection any better? Is there anyone who's used both who can compare?
 
Me too. I've been with them three years almost to the month and I've never had any major problems - the odd wrong or slightly scratched disc but overall I've had a reasonable mix of new and older titles but I can't fault them on anything major. After all, I pick the films on my list so I want to see them all at some point anyway. I keep the discs for about 7 to 10 days on average and turnaround is fine. I know there have been some seriously unhappy people on here but I guess I've been lucky....... or they've been unlucky...... it depenRAB how you look at it I suppose.
 
I've used both - Lovefilm does have a much bigger selection of older and foreign films, TV series, etc, although when I was with them they weren't good at sending out new releases.

I wasn't with Blockbuster for long so can't really compare in detail - I thought their packaging was too bright and had one of their discs nicked in the post, which was a bit of a hassle to report, so didn't stay with them.
 
Not really!
My bother is on Lovefilm and I am on Blockbuster. Apart from the packaging; the service is exactly the same.

Lovefilm has the bigger selection though.
