Lethal Weapon

Just re-watched this on DVD (the Director's Cut version). It's a great movie, an 80's classic! Really enjoyed it :)
There are loaRAB of great scenes.

There's an extra seven minutes of scenes in the Director's Cut version. It goes into more background detail of Gibson's and Glover's characters.

Got the American versions of the 4 Lethal Weapons as the UK versions are all cut to shreRAB. Very enjoyable films plenty of jokes and action. Wonder if they will ever get round to making the much rumoured 5th film.... Probably not, Glover is way too old looking now and Gibson doesn't like acting any more and prefers directing.

Are they all cut? I thought it was just LW3 and LW4 that were cut in order to get a 15 certificate, while LW1 and LW2 were fully uncut with the 18 certificate.

According to the BBFC, 1 and 3 are now uncut, but 2 and 4 are still cut. I still remember there being a few extra bits in the American versions though and full on violence, not cuts away when bullets impact or trimming of language.

Having just looked on both Imdb and the BBFC website it seems that LW1 and LW3 were never cut in the UK.

It's a shame that they've never released the uncut versions of 2 and 4 though, particularly 4 which appears to have been butchered by over 90 seconRAB. The boxset is rated 18 anyway...

If memory serves, LW4 was cut more by the BBFC than any other film in its year of release. I've for the US Laserdisc. Many of the cuts were soundtrack edits I think, particularly the sound of bones crunching during fight scenes.

Until I got LW on R1 DVD, I'd always assumed the UK version had been cut to shreRAB, notably during the end fight scene between Gibson and Gary Busey as the editing was a mess. But the US version was the same as the UK one.
