Lethal Weapon 5...

Strange I was watching LW 2 just night and thinking that the franchise would probably not make a comeback to the big screen like others recently have done.
Among other reason, they seemed to close the book on this series at the end of LW4 and Gibson,Pesci,Glover,Rock all would to need be free for work at the same time unlike Die Hard,Indiana Jones,Rambo etc which only really needed the lead star available.
Low and behold, talks surface of a new movie!

But the LW movies were all very far fetched but highly entertaining, I don't think a 5th movie is such a bad thing.

The post mentions that the script is by Shane Black who did the story for LW1. I dont believe he scripted the rest (may have helped with the story on the second) so if this is the case I dont see why not. Less comedy and more action I say :)

To be honest i quite like the sound of that brief plot synopsis, and i love all the previous films, so as long as they get everyone back for it i've got no problem with this.

Didn't LW 4 kinda make a point about the fact that Riggs was now getting too old to do this kinda thing? That was a part of its plot, was it not?

So what would LW 5 be about? Tow old geriatrics moaning about how they can't jump from rooftop to rooftop whilst still keeping a firm grip on their zimmer frame?

Other franchises might get away with the "old hero" but Leathal Weapon was always about the young cop/old cop dynamic and LW 4 kinda capped the idea by making the point that the young cop was now an old boy, too.

Personally, I thought LW 4 was the "late entry into an old trilogy" movie. It did what Indy, Rocky, Rambo et all are doing now, a long time ago. Seems silly to jump back on the bandwagon that they set rolling!

You can always tell when Gibson and Glover haven't had an acting role for 10 years. They go back to playing Riggs and Murtaugh. :D

Just say no to the whole idea of LW5, and to the whole idea of half the film showing a Gibson stunt double who's clearly 25 years younger than who he's supposed to be imitating.

Just say no, because we're all to old for this shit.

Wasn't Murtagh 'too old for this sh*t' in the first one.

God knows what his catchphrase will be now.

'Where's my teeth' or 'I like biscuits' perhaps

I would like it, sure they are old ( danny glover must be near his 80s now ) but who cares, it not like it is a seriouse film, and as far as double acts go, they are one of the best
