Let The Right One In

Easily the best vampire movie I've ever seen. To dismiss it as just a horror movie would be doing it a great disservice. It's also a love story, and a coming of age tale.

It's generating buzz not seen for a foreign film since Pan's Labyrinth - and it's fully deserving of the accolades it's receiving.

Currently 8.5 on IMDB - which ranks it as the joint second best horror movie with Alien and Psycho.

I particularly liked this comment:

Watch it - you won't regret it.

Saw it back in August at Frightfest. Best film of the festival for me, and when the author/screenplay writer came up on stage after the film to do a Q&A he got a massive round of applause!

One of the best films I've seen in years.

So many differing parts of this film I fell in love with. The story, the photography, the acting, the horror, even the CGI was shit hot.

Hugely recommended.

Saw this a couple of days ago as part of the Glasgow Film Festival and i've thought about the film ever since.

It's not out in the UK till April but this really is a fantastic film. It's Swedish and has subtitles but don't let that put you off!

It will mostly be sold as a vampire film but trust me, this ain't no slushy Twilight! It's a story about a vampire but at it's heart is really a love story/coming of age tale between a young boy and girl. Also has a little bit of comedy thrown in for good measure.

You must watch it because you'll never have seen anything like it before and the two main performances from the boy and girl will capture your heart. Equally just as good if not better than the young kiRAB from Slumdog Millionaire.

The film was featured regularly in last year's Top 10 best films' lists of 2008 and why it's not featured in the category of Best Foreign Film at this year's Oscars is a complete mystery! Oh, here's the bad news. An American remake is already on its way courtesy of Cloverfield director Matt Reeves.

Overall - highly recommended!
