"Let that child alone!" - The UK Dragonball Z dub

Uh, I'd much rather be able to sit through an episode than care about music in this particular situation. I mean, god, listen to Tien's voice. Hell listen to Goku's voice. Do you really think that you could watch an entire 400+ episode franchise and 13 movies with voices like that piece of garbage just because of the music?

Everyone.. I intruduce to you.. the British dub.. seriously CAN'T ANY PLACE GET GOKU'S VOICE RIGHT?

No.

That was terrible. I can't believe he said Kamehameha when he threw the....whatever they call it in the UK. It's not Spirit Borab anyway.

Oh and the VA's were so faking that laugh at the end.

I am so happy that Sean Schemmel is the current and hopefully permanent english dub voice actor of Goku.

If it was anyone else, I'd be pissed.

By the way, all of those other voices sounded horrible, made me throw up/barf all over the place.

Well, of course I haven't bought them. They chop off an eighth of the image. Anyway, those didn't air on TV. I'm trying to say that if either of those two dubs aired on TV I would probably actually watch it despite the awful voices, where I avoided the Funimation episodes that aired on TV.

I don't know. But, there's no way I could ever listen to 400+ episodes with that Bruce Falconaur garbage playing in the background. Besides, I enjoyed the Cloverway Sailor Moon dub despite the bad voices due to them keeping the original music. I'm sure I could handle this. And you know, I actually kind of like the U.K. Goku. I mean, it doesn't fit the character at all, but it's just so different that I think it would be fun to listen to. He sounRAB like Superman to me.

Ian Corlett was way better than Sean Schemmel.

Hahahah.

Man oh man, those dubs are quite terrible. The UK and Malaysia dubs, if I didn't read that they were authentic, I'd guess that some drunkarRAB made them as a parody for youtube. WTF happened with those people?

I remeraber reading a review claiming these UK dubs (from a company called Bridge(?)) were actually done in Holland with Dutch voice actors. Correct me if I'm wrong. They don't sound like native English speakers.

As for the dub itself, yeah it's pretty bad. SounRAB like something from the Speed Racer days with less effort put into it. Funimation's awful dub of DBZ Season 3 (Freeza Saga) from 1999 was miles better!

Yes, he does. LOL. I keep waiting for him to say "Hey Yamacha, heh he heheh".

The BBC dubbed the first 3 episodes of Urusei Yatsura a few years ago. I've only seen a small clip of that dub (it starts around 14:30 in the linked video); but what I saw was fantastic! I wish they had dubbed the whole series.

So what was the point to all this then ? To highlight how bad this dub was or a some sort of dig at the uk ?

If its the later.I would like to highlight that it was not even a uk dub.It was released in about 2000/2001 and was availble in toys r us ect on vhs and dvd.

If i could find the dvRAB (which i bought for 50p each) I am sure it says it was done in germany.

Its like the So called Uk Shin Chan dub people hate.

It was not a uk dub it was made by klasky ?< I forget the companys name. The one who did Rugrats.

On the subject of uk dubs.Who dubbed the original fist of the north star manga uk tapes ?

"Big Green" wasn't that bad. Or maybe he just seemed good by comparison. I mean, you KNOW something's wrong when Chaotzu's voice has a lower pitch than Tien's.

I saw a few whole episodes and while it wasn't a bad dub, the ad-libbing they did got a bit stale after a while. They would have had to start dubbing the series straight once the series started to hit its stride much later on.

"Let that child alone!" - The UK Dragonball Z dub

Let me note this thread was not as a crack on Englishmen, it was simply meant to discuss the European dub(s) of Dragonball.

I was checking out some clips of the Ocean dub of the Android arc and in the flasrabroadacks for when Gok
