Less phone reception with the E61?

Hi everybody,
I've been using my E61 for 4 months now and I noticed that the phone reception is not that good. With my E61 I have regulary no reception in my house. If I put my sim in another mobilephone it will always have at least 1 bar of reception!
I talked with my provider about this (Dutch Telfort) and they tested and said that the reception outside my house is up to their standards and that they can't take any responsibily about the reception in the house.
For me I use my mobile for work purposes and when my E61 has no reception, I can miss work!
What I want to know is what your experiences are on this reception subject.
Did any of you notice less reception with his/her E61? F.e. when you pick it up (from you pocket) and look at the screen that there is no reception and after a couple of seconds there is...

Just put it in your pocket with the screen facing your body, so there is nothing blocking the antenna of the E61. Or when there is little signal in your area, try putting it on the table with the screen facing down.

compared to the 5500, yes e61 has a less reception, i have been noticing it too...

Too bad that it has less reception but at least I know now that it is probably not a faulty E61...

This was the reason why I bought and sold an E61 in approximately 1 week. I have better reception with a Nokia 3120...I am thinking of a Nokia E70-2 now...I haven't had a QWERTY keyboard since last July.

i had reception issues in my area on cingular with the E61 too. turning the phone over on it's screen does help some but it was overall, still a deal breaker on the phone (along with its width)

My 61 definitely doesn't get as good reception as my 6682. That said, I get crappy reception with any phone where I live, so it doesn't really matter much to me.

perfect reception here, then again im in socal and t-mobile has excellent reception here

i actually think u do have a faulty e61...maybe u can try with your friend's e61 and see hwo it goes?

Have you actually missed / dropped calls with your E61? Test it by making calls and calling in from other phones first. Another thing is that the "signal bar" can be deceiving. When you make calls, hand-offs may happen at that time and the signal strength will be different. It happens to all my Nokia GSM handsets all the time when it switching from one band to another.

Also, I would suggest you to switch your E61 to GSM only if it has been set to dual-mode. Telfort does not offer UMTS anyway.
