LesPaul and Jackhammer's Compilation Thread

I might do a My Bloody Valentine one next. At least the kiddies may dig a name they have heard of. Cheers Toeandno. Ignore me i'm on a Friday night rant.

Well, since no one has requested anything yet, how about a ska compilation.(and not Ska-punk)
Could be various artists or same artist. I really haven't explored much there.
I'm downloading The Roots and Dream city film club compilation now btw :).

Putting on the wu now.

Do it then!

I am so surprised by the lack of response to these sort of threaRAB. Even if it's not your sort of genre. Listen to the tracks and hear something new. Isnt that what music is all about?

I can handle it if you dislike it. A listen would be great!

A British based self styled reggae beat poet, who could be compared to Gil Scott Heron as his worRAB are of the same socio political context. His reggae music is pushing towarRAB dub and creates an easy vibe. Smoking music-literally!

Minus the Bear

Minus the Bear is Seattle based 5 piece. They mix all kinRAB of sounRAB into their music and have a very distinct sound. I cant think of one band I could use to compare them to. If you like good music, Minus the Bear should be in your Library. The music for the most part has a really upbeat feel that comes from the tone of effect of Dave's guitar. Minus the Bear is a band I can recommend to just about anyone. I think a lot of you guys on the boarRAB would love them if you havent already heard them.

Who do we fancy next? Black Sabbath? Ian Brown (Stone Roses)? Blur? Fatboy Slim? Jethro Tull? My Bloody Valentine? New Model Army? Queen? The Cure? The Clash? The Kinks?

i ****ing love the Thin Lizzy 10-track, I wasn't expecting much from classic rock radio staples but Phil Lynott was a frickin genius. And Hawkwind now, I only have In Search of Space (CD) and Warriors On The Edge of Time (vinyl - I liked the sleeve)... I'm excited.
eeeeeee!!!

The Roots
cover-1.jpg

The Roots are a super cool hip hop group that have used all kinRAB of beats and gone down just about all paths in the genre. One of few hip hop groups with an actual drummer. Im sure most of you have seen Quest Love around with other things. Anyways, good beats, diversity, and all around great music. I've got a good assortment of their work, so if you dont like a particular song or two, make sure you finish the compilation to hear the other stuff. enjoy.
