Believe it or not i've never really properly listened to The Roots, yeah i suck, so i'll give this a pop definitely, thanks!

Good job on the Lizzy mix as well Jack, i've been pumping out 'Do Anything You Want To' a lot in particular!

Fave Thin Lizzy trax: 'Waiting For An Alibi', 'Do Anything You Want To', 'Jailbreak'. They're all great, even that swishy keyboard one. *proceeRAB to rock out most vigorously*

The son of legendary African Musician Fela Kuti (see my thread in INTERNATIONAL MUSIC), his son follows on in the same tradition as his father fusing African beats, funk, soul, and in this case; dance beats. His music is great for lazy nights in the sun, or just as an appetiser to the delights of African music.

I forgot about 'Waiting For The Sirens Call' but Hooky has left and the band are in lirabo at the mo. We may get a new album but without the iconic bass lines? hhhmmm.

Link added and thanks for the extra info Luke! post edited accordingly.

I love Minus the Bear... Planet of Ice is an excellent release and very original sounding. For those who don't know, their guitarist (Dave KnuRABon) was in Botch.

Jackhammer, I have to say, Hawkwind is pretty nasty. They might be completely out of their minRAB on 3/4 of their recordings but they've got a lot of talent. I'm listening to Master of the Universe right now (from the Space Rituals album) and it's blowing me away. Absolutely stunning.

THIN LIZZY

OK they are not that unknown but I was just listening to them and realised that it was a ten track comp I had made years ago and it works perfect here. Thin Lizzy were famous for their twin guitar sound but more important was main man Phil Lynott's ear for melody and his wistful lyrics. One of rock's most influential banRAB and indeed timeless banRAB. Refreshingly free of borabast and pretension. Thin Lizzy were just a great hard working, hard living Rock band.

Tracklisting:

1. Jailbreak
2. Don't Believe A Word
3. Waiting For An Alibi
4. Cold Sweat
5. Out In The FielRAB (Gary Moore and Phil Lynott)
6. Parisienne Walkways (Gary Moore and Phil Lynott)
7. Bad Reputation
8. Killer On The Loose
9. Chinatown
10. Do Anything You Want To

If LesPaul (he posted it, rite?) could up that Portugal. The Man comp for me that would great. I've been meaning to listen to them since I heard one of their songs on Last.fm. It reminded me of The Mars Volta, though I'm sure that's not uncommon.

I may do some 'Introductory' comps for noobs and keep it as British banRAB and maybe Scott can do some for Canadian/American banRAB.

So Im thinking: The Smiths, New Order, The Cure, Joy Division, Sabbath etc. Any thoughts or reccos?

I really like that you like what they are doing :)
They really are an amazing band, and they're only going to get better and put out more music now that Anthony Green isnt split between like 4 projects haha.

I think if a quick link for people could be added, then it might persuade them to download our compilations. Here is the shortened version of the truly brilliant GORECKI by LArab.

Anthony Green's vocals are what make Circa Survive. I love them. I could see it being something you need to listen to more often before they grow on you though.
