Leslie Nielsen Season??

Is it just me or has there been a surge in Leslie Nielsen films on TV in the last fortnight or so?

Last week Film4 was showing Naked Gun 33 1/3 a few nights during the week, Paramount was showing Naked Gun 1 (and 2 I think), some Columbo film with him in it was on last weekend and I saw Airplane on somewhere during this week (maybe TCM?).

Earlier today, Channel 5 had Forbidden Planet on and right now, Dracula: Dead and Loving it! is just finishing.

Is there some national celebration of Leslie going on?

I really love this guy but his movies just seem to have been on a lot more in the last few weeks.
Maybe he's on this much all the time and I just didn't notice before?

Paramount show Naked Gun quite alot. Dracula: Dead and Loving It was on yesterday! Oh,man i missed it. Love that film with Leslie and Mel Brooks!

"She's Nosferatu"
"She's Italian?!"

The weird thing for me is that only last week I was bemoaning the fact you can't get it on DVD in the UK and it hasn't been on TV in ages!

Weird how these things work out.

I used to watch Paramount all the time when they had Police Squad on! I agree though, I spose they do show it all the time!
They should put Police Squad back on instead.

There really should be a Nielsen Season on some channel!!

I saw 'Forbidden Planet' for the first time yesterday. It was different to what I expected, but interesting to see a younger Nielsen in it.

Could be a tie in with the Police Squad DVD that came out last week.....though I doubt it...

I'd rather see all those less public spoof movies that he starred in that you can't seem to get any more....Spy Hard (Tally Ho!), that one that's a spoof of the Fugitive....and about three other spoof movies I've seen on TV randomly with him in, really enjoyed yet never remembered the names of! :D

Someone should really release a complete works of Neilsen DVD box set of something.....

I love Spy Hard!!
Wrongfully Accused (Fugitive, Mission Impossible, Braveheart .etc) is another great one!

"Nice Beaver" is great, makinpost, but I will always love these two:

Jane: "Can I interest you in a night cap?"
Frank: "No thank you, I don't wear them"

and

Jane (giving a description): "Caucasian, with a moustache, about 6ft 3"
Frank: "Thats one awfully tall moustache"

It's just the was he says them, so completely deadpan! :D
