Leonardo Di Caprio as Captain America!!!

I'm a fan Di Caprio. But i don't believe he is suited to this role. They (Marvel) seem to be concentrating on which actor can bring in the mass auidence rather than portray the character correctly.
 
I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed this is just a media story rather than what Marvel have actually got planned.

Casting RDJ in Iron Man was inspired so you've just got to hope that they manage something similar for Captain America :D
 
Di Caprio is a good choice for Captain America.

He's bulked up considerably since his Titanic days & would fill out the spandex nicely.

Trouble is he only seems to make films directed by Martin Scorcese these days.

Although maybe they could get De Niro in as the Red Skull.;)
 
I used to be a Di Caprio hater.... but he has surprised me with his more recent movies, that Titanic days seem to be far far behind him!

He could surprise me with this one too!

Though Brad Pitt does seem very Captain America!
 
I have to say DiCaprio's really suffered from being the teenie girl idol in Titanic and Romeo And Juliet, but if you ignore those two and look at the rest of his career there's a bloody fine actor there.

From What's Eating Gilbert Grape all the way through to The Dearted, I struggle to think of a bad film he's been involved in (barring The Beach but it wasn't his fault he was miss-ast).

I'm no authority on Marvel comics, but I'm sure he'll be able to carry it off, he really is that good.
 
semi-spoiler for anyone who doesnt know about captain america.

i have to ask, if Louis Leterrier has said there is a deleted scene in The Incredible Hulk that has Cap America in it does this mean that he is still frozen in ice at that time?? as they obviously dont have an actor to portray him yet.
