I loved the books, and I want to go see it, but I'm afraid I'll hate it because I hate Jim Carey. When I first heard he was playing Olaf, I thought, "That should be OK - Count Olaf is supposed to be over-the-top evil." But in the previews I've seen, he just looks silly, not evil at all.

I couldn't find it either. I searched but no results came up, so I started it. If there was one and it's found, you can close this one. :)

I went with my little sister to see this movie. We didn't stay for the credits though. What was special about the credits? Did they do something to them? I didn't know they were going to do anything to them.
The movie was cute, but I wasn't expecting it to be so dark. I didn't see the previews for the movie so I thought it was going to be a comedy because of Jim Carey. The first part of the movie was funny, but hte majority of it was dark. I couldn't see the subtitles so I'm sure I missed out on some funny parts.

Aww damnit I wanted a sequel..I want the whole series to be made into movies :(

The LJ link for the Klaus av didn't work.Anyone have any Snicket art?

I saw this the other night with my friends. I definately liked it; it just seemed a bit long to me, highlights were Jim Carrey and the Biting Baby with it's subtitles. And Klaus will be a nice looking guy, when he hits puberty :D I wonder how old he is?

I saw this movie a few days ago, and I found it quite enjoyable. The only thing that really bugged me was Jim Carrey and his over-the-top-ness. He wasn't evil enough to play the villian.

I haven't read the books, but after seeing this I think I might check them out. Anyone else seen this family flick?

I'd say no. Too much time has passed. They'd have to do too much recasting, that it wouldn't even be the same. I, however, would love if they made an animated series, movie or television! (And I mean real animation, none of this computer business! :P) :thud:

I jumped too! Not the first time he jumped out, but when the typewriter jammed, and Snicket was like "Where were we? Ah yes, the snake." POP! That scared me.

I just got back with my brother from seeing this and I  it! It was funny, adventurous and touching. Was it me or did anyone else jump a bit when that damn snake came popping out of thatat cage and at the camera? Sunny was such a cute baby! I wanted to hug her  and Violet was beautiful and Klaus is going to be one sexy guy when he grows up :D

I think my favorite scene was when they were in their Aunt's house by the ocean and that storm started ruining the house. I noticed all that stuff that the Aunt was saying that was dangerous and all actually happened when the kids were in the house during the storm. It was pretty cool.

They are just starting auditions.
Emily will play Violet,And Liam will still play Klaus but i don't know about anyone else

I think they just started asking for audition tapes for all the characters in the next movie, so they can't possibly be half way done. I don't think so, at least. Where did you hear that?

First time I have ever been creeped out by Jim Carry as one of his characters. I know it sounds silly but I am sure I am not alone when I say he was just creepy.

I did love the movie, the kids were great how much smarter they were then the grownups. But I think I like the books better, I have read the first one and in the middle of the second book.

Aw, I want to see this movie! But I never had the chance...I better try to go one of these days. :)
