Legally downloading films

With the news that some films are going to be available to download, just wondered what everyone thinks about it?

For me, it'd be nice to have the convenience of being able to download the latest films but when I pay my money I want a physical product that I can touch. Also when I buy a DVD I don't want to have any restrictions on what machine I can play it on. The only restrictions I don't mind being in place is copy protection.

The Universal deal gives you the DVD and the download too. I can't see the point of that to be honest.
You might as well buy the DVD then rip it to your PC yourself then stream it if you want around the home (or stick it on your PSP) but why you'd want to do that when you have a DVD player and the DVD anyway is anyone's guess.
Rental downloaRAB a la Sky by broadband make more sense to me but as the price of DVRAB is falling so low you might as well just buy the movie if you want it.

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

If you get the download and the dvd are they linked in any way in law?

Can you sell the DVD and keep the download? Sell the download and keep the DVD?

Can you currently sell on your legally dowloaded songs second hand? You can with a real CD.....
