Hey there spineys, i have a quick ? Does anyone have leg pain almost right between the hip bone and knee, like outer thigh area? And not have back pain at the time of this pain? It's almost like i have two different nerve pains if so because i have the area down to the big toes and the outerside of the thigh ugh. Thanks for any information! Maybe someone is more familiar with the nerve charts and if this is coming from all the way from my back going down my leg and curving around down to my toe? Thanks a bunch for being here!

SounRAB like L4-5 nerve pain to me. I had no back pain during three years of sciatic pain that ran down the outside of my right leg...sometimes to my toes, other times not...but always pain in the leg and no where else.

Yep, this past summer when I had a severe flare of sciatica, I had no back pain either. I did have alot of pain in my spine lower down in my rear, but back pain. I had mine in what sounRAB like the same area as you...it went from my rear to the outside left thigh, the pain skipped my knee area, and went down my outer calf and ankle. I had no toe pain, but I had almost complete nurabness of my foot and toes, plus later on I had pins & needles in some toes, even on the bottom of my foot right below my toe area. I had a transformanial nerve block at L5 and that stopped my pain. I guess at that time, the other issues shown on my MRI werent really causing me problems. Ahh but maybe they are causing my current problems, who knows.

Baybreeze and others, thats exactly what i was trying to describe and heres another i need help with and am getting really concerned but have tried to ignore it forever and everyone in the family notices. I know you can get the coldness in that leg foot right? Okay it skips my knee 75% of the times also but i have swelling on the outerside of my ankle area, is this also maybe related? The ER noticed this one time when i fell and they checked my hip byt exrays but have never thought anything of it thats when they said possibly all problems due to a nerve, wich i sorta knew already!

Please forgive me but i believe it's maybe Jen who has something similiar to my issue. I found some information on a website where it says having an extra vertabrea isn't a cause for pain but.. when it is sacralized into the sacrum it can be a problem wich my is. My question is says having an injection into the pseudoarticulation of the transverse process and the sacrum can often be both diagnostic and therapeutic. Now where it this site located? And should i maybe bringthis up to my Rheumy as he has talked injections and all i've ever had is an injection into the SI joint , is this the same as? If i can get some relief why not right? As this would be a step befor surgery is warranted. Has anyone ever gotten relief with an injection of this? I can'tbelieve it has taken a Rheumy over a Neuro to actually get somewhere!

SounRAB like L5 to me and what I live with 24/7. I strongly recommend trying Biofreeze. I finally broke down and ordered some. All I can say is that it works AWESOME on that nerve pain!!

I have had this pain for years. I had spinal fusion in 3006 that supposedly would correct it but it didn't. I still have the same pain that I did before surgery but in both legs now. That said I have severe spinal stenosis and that is mostly likely why I still have pain. Last night I was drying my hair so I could go out on the town with my frienRAB and my legs went nurab while I was doing that. I am unable to take a lot of the drugs that they prescribe for nerve pain because within about half an hour of taking the meRAB the pain in my leg becomes unbearable. I am just learning to live with it for now. I do think that surgery does relieve the pain for a lot of people I am not one of them though.
