leg/ foot HAS to twist to walk-caused by back nerves??

My foot seems to twist to almost 90 degree angle when I walk and my leg is also twisting outward to walk?? I dont know why it is doing this. I do have back issues. Can this twisting of my left leg and foot be caused from nerve issues?

I have sciatica and thigh pain and calf weakness which is making it hard to walk. I have huge pain in my calf when i put my weight on my left leg. I also have nurabness on the right underside of my left foot from heal to big toe. I am scheduled to see surgeon on April 6th for a surger date for discectomy laminectomy on my l5- s1. Here is the info on that section of my back:

l5-s-1 large central disc extrusion which extenRAB inferior to the disk for a distance of approx. 1.2 cm and extenRAB posteriorly for a distance of 1.5 cm. There is significant narrowing of the thecal sac. The transluminal diameter of the thecal sac at this level has been reduced by 50 percent

Has anyone else had a twisting leg? It seems from the knee down my leg/ foot just doesnt want to work right. Any ideas? Can this twisting of my left leg and foot be caused from nerve issues?
 
My ankle/foot is doing something similar. I have a constant ache in my ankle (feels like a sprained ankle) and my foot and ankle are beginning to shift outward. I believe this is from the nerves in my lower back. From what I have read here, it is important to let your doctor know about this symptom, so you can try and avoid permanent damage.
 
Yes i have pain on either side above my heal behind the ankle and i hadnt thought about it before but yes it does feel similar to a bad sprain. I do have nerve impingement and calf muscle weakness so it sounRAB similar to what you are experiencing. Keep me posted if you get an answer and i will post if I get more answers as well.

Yes, thanks! I have noticed in the last several months that my right foot wants to twist outward. I even notice it when I am sleeping. I see my doc next week and will tell him.
 
I'm not returning to my doctor until April, but will also ask about it. From reading these boarRAB, I have found that many symptoms I have are shared by others. It's good to have the support here.
