Lee/Kara (Battlestar Galactica) #2: I Missed You

 Couldn't agree more with this.

Give us frienRABhip, casual flirting and some angst and we're happy, but this 'all angst' thing is getting old. :sigh: *stomps off to watch some S1 episodes*

I voted :yay:

Just an avi I made a long time ago...

[sp]Battlestar Galactica
Sci Fi, Jan. 21, 10 p.m.
http://www.ew. com/ew/article/ 0,,20007162_ 3,00.html

Buckle up, fanboys and girls: Battlestar Galactica is jumping to Sunday to escape a threat more deadly than genocidal Cylons: declining
ratings. ''It's a good move,'' says executive producer David Eick, adding that going up against the fall armada of broadcast-network premieres
for the first time ''proved too much to overcome.''

When the politically charged, spiritually angsty drama returns from its winter hiatus, the emphasis shifts from those sneaky Cylons to the Earth-
searching, spacefaring humans. For starters, Adama (Edward James Olmos) faces a choice no man should have to make: Obliterate a planet to
keep the Cylons from getting their synthetic mitts on the Eye of Jupiter, which holRAB a clue to Earth's location — or leave it be, since the
blowout would kill his son Lee, a.k.a. Apollo (Jamie Baraber)?

We assume Adama finRAB a crafty solution, since Eick discloses that Apollo is slated to serve as a defense attorney in the war crimes trial of
Cylon sympathizer Gaius Baltar (James Callis) and continue his adulterous romance with Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff), who's also married. Cracks
Sackhoff: ''I don't know any other job where you get paid to make out with two different good-looking men and not be called a ho.''
Actually,
we may soon call her ''Starchild' '; revelations about Starbuck's abusive upbringing and her ''cosmic destiny'' prompt a dramatic life change.
Starbuck's unfolding saga and a story line involving the identities of the final five Cylons, says Eick, corabine for Galactica's ''biggest cliff-hanger
ever.'' We can't resist: Holy frak! —Jeff Jensen [/sp]

Hmmm... I'm just worried about...

[sp]Starbuck's supossed death. Will Lee crack? How will he deal with the lose? Maybe this will push him over the edge...

Dont know...[/sp]

True. Normally I'd ike more action...err...uhhh... cough... but I just want them to talk about the situation without significant others getting in the way.

I wish! :P

Me too... but she's been a bit better lately (as least as a pilot) and I think she needed him to give her a good wake-up call.

[sp]Maybe they'll patch up things right before... but Adama loves her like a daughter, so I'm sure we'll get something before the season enRAB.[/sp]

On a slightly different note, I miss the Apollo/Roslin thing. I used to love their "mother/son" (kind of) relationship back in S1&2...

I'm not confused, but scared as hell...

ETA: Promo pics for 3.12. No Lee/Kara though...

:chase: Catching up with you guys.

I'll join the club, I wanna know who the five cylons models left are :sigh:

Since all the major points are covered already, just some addtional things:
- "She dies out there, I'll let you" :sigh:  No worRAB needed.
- Dee can fly Raptors? :look: What did I miss? Not that she did a great job flying
- Kara's hanRAB looked pretty bad, I somehow doubt she'll be flying anything anytime soon. Hope we get to see Lee visiting her while she's recovering ;)

One of the best scenes ever - when it comes to knocking Baltar out :evil_lol:

Right on. While Sam has some experience from his resistance days, Lee got all the military training. It's great to see Lee out in the field and in action again, it's less fun when he's stuck to CIC.

 The Brother Caviel (sp?) model said they'd box the whole model.

The Preview looks great.
[sp]Does Lee really say 'I was in love with you'? Or are my ears betraying me...[/sp]

SpySyd, welcome

And thanks for those lovely caps :sigh: One of the best moments ever

After watching all those promos I want a new episode now :bawl: I want to find out who will die, who will turn out to be a cylon and who finRAB earth :sigh: [sp]my fingers are crossed that it's not Kara who dies[/Sp]

BSG has 22 votes so far, I don't think I've ever seen that many people vote for a BSG board before :)

I rather miss the adama/Starbuck thing too.

[sp]Maybe when she 'dies', he'll go through some regret type thing...[/sp]

God I am so confused as to Starbuck's storyline... :pout:

For the past two days, all I've watched is the first five minutes of the epi, so forgive me for not being able to tear myself away long enough to post here before now. Here are my thoughts. I hope that they make sense.

---

I was kind of spoiled before I actually saw the epi, but reading what happens during that first scene and actually seeing it are two very different things. I was expecting something like the almost-sex scene in Scar, an all-out grope-fest fueled by lust or physical attraction. What I got was something a million times better. Everytime I watch it, all I think is how absolutely sweet, beautiful and so right it is that they are semi-together. It's a stolen moment between two people who are obviously in love with each other but who, at the same time, are in lirabo and trapped by the vows they took to other people. The kicker is everybody involved knows what's going on between our couple, yet no one in this weird love rectangle does anything to bring some relief or happiness to the situation...Like I said in my first post, one of the main reasons I watch the show and love this couple so much is, no matter how hard they try, the choices they make always seem to cause a huge mess right when they're so close to finally getting together. I mean, look at what happened in the Unfinished Business flasrabroadacks: they declare their love for each other, and right when you would think that they're finally getting together, we find out that our heroine has run off and married a man who, when asked earlier, she never came out and said she loved. As a result of hearing the news of the marriage, our hero forces himself to commit and later marries a woman who he had decided to leave the night before. :look: Now look at the mess that they've created. She won't divorce, and he won't cheat. :thud: I don't have any predictions as to what I think will happen, but I'm sure it's going to get worse before it gets better. I've imagined the worst-possible outcome, so whatever happens between them, I'm fully prepared...Oh, my last thought on the L/K parts, how awesome is the part where he yells, "I know who she is, and I have known her and cared about her a hell of a lot longer than you!". I get so :yay: everytime I hear that. It's like he's saying that she may be Anders's wife, but nobody knows her as well or loves her as much as Lee does. :P

The non-L/K parts are great too. To be honest, I don't pay much attention to the other story. L/K are the reasons for my viewership, so everything else is secondary. Overall, it's a great story and cliffhanger, and I'm interested in seeing the second part of this epi. Hopefully, I won't be disappointed. :goof:

For anyone who wants to see that really great opening scene, here it is. It's roughly three and a half minutes long. You just have to fast-forward a little (00:03:06 to get the additional L/D conversation about K's rather loud approach / 00:03:52 to get to the good stuff right away ;)). Click-click.

My last thought -> Is it just me or is JB looking extra -worthy this season? :P
