Israeli-made film about an inexperienced tank crew during the first Lebanon war of '82.

A very personal account of the experiences of director Samuel Maoz, who was part of the tank crew that the film is based on.

The tank crew is commandeered by a higer ranking sergeant, and sent on a series of missions...largely into unknown, enemy territory.

What makes it unique is that it is filmed entirely from inside the tank. Not only does this add to the claustrophobia of the situation, but what you see of the events happening outside the tank are glimpsed through the scope of the gunner. And it's what the gunner decided to focus on that gives the film it's uniqueness.

You also have a certain degree of conflict within the soldiers in the tank itself, their disagreements not only with each other, but with the sergeant who keeps pushing them harder and harder to complete various missions.

And what's also really important to this movie is sound...if you don't have a surround sound system, then buy one now. The use of sound to convey what is going on outside the tank is superb, and some of the best use of surround I have heard in a movie for a long time.
