is Finished? So excited to go. just wondering if I'll have any leave after Boot Camp. If it helps, my job MOS will be Structural Mechanic, tech school in Gulfport, MS, if I'm not mistaken. any input would be appreciated.

Hello T. Rasa,

NO. No break.

The Air Force does not have MOS designators. Start to refer to your Air Force job as an AFSC. Air Force Specialty Code. OK?

After your 8 1/2 weeks at Lackland AFB, Texas you will go directly to a Navy school at the Pensacola Naval Base in Florida for 70 days.

Apparently the Air Force has a contract with the Navy to teach Aircraft Structural Mechanics.

After you graduate you will be given leave time to go home. Then, you will report to your first Air Force base.

That's about it. Make sure you learn to write letters home and ask the folks back home to write to you. It is always great to get mail when you are in training.

Best wishes,

Larry Smith
Senior Master Sergeant, USAF (Ret.)
First Sergeant

P.S. The Navy Seabees are located at Gulfport, Mississippi.
