Someone I know is in the Marines boot camp right now. I am not in contact with him right now. I heard from friends who have been keeping in touch that he might be home for a month or two when he comes back. I always thought it was a 10 day leave. So, how is that possible?

Every Marine receives 10 days of leave after bootcamp. My boyfriend graduated not too long ago and he came home after his bootcamp graduation. He tried to get recruiter's assistance so he could stay home longer, but he had to wait until he was done with MCT- Marine Combat Training (or Infantry trianing depending on what your friend's MOS is). After MCT he received 30 days of recruiter's assistance. This will depend on when his MOS school begins. For example, my boyfriend's school does not start until March so they let him come home. Hope this helps and good luck to your friend! semper fi!

It depends on how filled up the guys job in the Marines is, the minimum is 10 days, but yeah, he could get longer

they can request to help our their recruiter..if granted they can get a week or maybe 2 of extra leave..its called recruiters assistance and not everyone gets it..and during holidays you get time off since schools close..but other then RA they wont get extra time no matter what school they have to atteend
