Hi, asking a question for my girlfriend. She has a leased 2007 G6. The front ball joints need replacing. She took it to a dealership and they told her that it wasn't covered in the warranty. Just trying to double check before she spends $400plus getting it fixed.
Thanks

If it matters she has a 3 year lease with a year left with just over 40k on the car
She hasn't noticed any problems with the car at all. She took it to a GM service center for an oil change, and they took her back to the hoist, and showed her that the front tire moved side to side when pulled on.

That's defiantly under warranty no way 40k could cause bad joints I had a 1989 transam with 160k and the ball joints started squeaking sounds like a manufactures defect to me get a grease gun and see if the noise stops good luck.

Depends on the warranty terms. If it is bumper to bumper with no mileage limits, like 36 month or 36k miles, then yes warranty should cover it. There is nothing to grease. The ball joints are sealed meaning by factory expectations they should last forever and never need greasing. I say Bologna. I feel all moving parts should have renewed grease once in a while. Also, the transmission is sealed. There is no dipstick for it either. The only supposed time to worry about fluid is if it starts leaking or slipping. I own an 07 G6 GT. It has 47k on it and the ball joints are starting to pop. That's one of the new "recyclable" vehicles of today. I myself own an 86 GMC Sierra short bed truck, my 16 year old son owns an 87 Chevy Suburban. What a tank but very easy to work on and made of nuts and bolts, not plastic and clips. The wife's car is nice, but my truck is awesome!
