OK, please NO comments on how RIDICULOUS or PATHETIC it is for a girl my age (19) to not know how to ride a bike! Due to many different reasons, I have never rode a real bike in my life and was wondering if it's possible for me to learn how to ride one now. The reason for this is because I want to go on a bike trek with my young cousin over the summer...
Can you please give me some tips for learning how to ride a bike? Also, how much should I pay for my first bike? I want it to be safe and sturdy...I plan on riding it on mainly flat ground.... Is it possible for me to learn fast?

Thanks. I appreciate any tips or helpful comments. At 19, it's better late than never to learn how to ride a bicycle!! =)

This may seem strange but start out on a slight hill. The incline will help give you enough speed that you will be able to keep your balance when just starting off. Thats how I learned!

don't worry about it!! I thought my mom how to ride one when i was, say maybe, 10.. just have someone help you. You know in case you fall or something. That way you will be more confident in going forward. Best of luck!!
