Learn Php to Create Portals?

I need some body help to know and to learn Php. Well i have concept of programming like c,c++,vb 6. Also i do know little bit regarding HTLM, FrontPage. But now i want to learn Php from begining to High Level. I need to Create Portals In this. I guess Php is good for Internet Programming, Web Site Creation. Is There anybody to help me in this regard. I want to everything about it.
Please help me in this regard.
