Leaders in animated shows

Any show that features action for the most part, since the 50s on up, has always had the one character who is either appointed or the de facto leader of the group. For the most part they're usually the most balanced character, can do no wrong, but occasionally they're written as jerks, or somewhat self-serving and annoying, yet still have leadership qualities about them. Do you have any favorite "leaders" from cartoon shows from over the years? I just recently started watching that Sushi Pack cartoon on CBS now, mostly because it's written by the old Tiny Toons/A! staff, and the leader of that group known as Tako cracks me up as he's pretty much a flawed character that acts for his own selfish whims at times, gets back sassed by everyone in the group, but when push comes to shove, can save the day.

Jay from Class of the Titans is one of my favorite exemple of a well written leader.

He's not the most exceptionnal fighter of the bunch, but he's charismatic and has a knack for tactics and keeping tempers in check. He's also well aware that great things can come from teamwork and team spirit and can get the best out of his team mates.

He's insecure at times when he fails but not in a whiny way nor is he too serious that he can't have fun.

The importance of a good leader is evident whenever Jay is absent. The other members start argueing with one another and try to force their way into the leader role...it all falls apart!

He's a great character in a great show!
