LD (Lincoln-Douglas) debate help?

I'm writing a Lincold-Douglas debate case for the following resolution:

Showing disrespect to the American flag is antithetical to fundamental American values.


I'm having trouble coming up with criteria for this (i'm defending the affirmative position first; but later i will also have to argue the negative)

any ideas? thanks in advance, all help is greatly appreciated :)
