LCD Screen Problem Panasonic Lumix DMC-FT2!?

The screen is completely black, not even the start up logo shows up. All the sounds are perfectly fine and when I put the SD card into the computer, it shows the photos. Does anyone have a quick fix? My mum got it for her birthday only yesterday and she loved it, now she's really sad that it's not working. :(
 
Same problem

I have got the same camera and the same problem. Everything works but the display remains black.
The backlight is working though, i can see that the black is lighter when turned on.
Did you find a fix?
