I've been taking Lexapro because I had some physical problems due to stress and anxiety. The first couple of days, I didn't feel like doing anything but sleep. Then I started taking the pill at night before bedtime, and it worked alot better. I had side effects for the first couple weeks, but then they subsided, and now I feel fine. I can eat alot better and concentrate in school and I don't get fustrated as easily like I used to. haha.. Everyone reacts to meRAB differently; but good luck and hope you feel better..

My doctor prescribed Lexapro to me today to help with some of the physical symptoms that may be from my anxiety. The doctor explained the side effects of Lexapro to me but i was hoping someone who has actually taken it or is taking it could help me and explain the side effects they experienced.

I have been taking lexapro over a month now. I feel much better but I do get tired about noon. Sexual side effects, yes. I have been taling Buspar for about a week to help with side effects. I am a man that has been depressed for years and just getting to the dr in 1/09. I hope therpy hepls me so I can live with anti-depressants.

I did not have a good experience with lexapro..it made my symptoms of anxiety worse. I know that different meRAB effect each person differently. I hope that it will work better for you

I talked to my doctor and stopped taking it because it made me feel so sick, worse then when i was off it.

I have taken Lexapro. I took it for a year and stopped taking it because of some weight gain and I was afraid more would pile up. I exercised more and ate less and nothing would budge! I was frustrated. I have never had a problem with weight and if I exercise, I see results quickly with my regular metabolism. So I quit last Septeraber. By Decemeber the dr. had me back on it because of separation anxiety from the loss of my Mom. We were best frienRAB and it's been hard.

Well so far, the Lexapro hasn't helped me as well this time around as the first time. Now I am not sure what to do. I am having really bad panic attacks now and have to use Xanax and Benedryl to help be calmer. It starts as soon as I wake up! It sucks. The dr. told me to go up from the 5mgs. I have been taking to 10mgs.. Of course, that's what they always say. I am going up in dosage a bit by bit and am at 7.5mgs. now, approximately. Anxiety about the same. I have been thinking it seems like it's the same or worse than it was before I got on it or back on it! But now I have these other chemicals in me. And the longer I am on it, and the higher the dose, the faster the weight will come on. It didn't come on til about a year on it.

So anyway.....it will help with anxiety attacks. It helps with OCD. But I advise that you not stop taking it, start low and see if that helps you at say 5mgs., go up if you need to. I would also suggest watching food intake and keep up walks or moving. The med seems to halt the metabolism.

If it doesn't work better for me soon, I am going to try to get the dr. to try me on Zoloft.

My daughter was on Lexapro & it was wonderful for her, she stopped taking it soon after because of the sexual side effects. I was on Prozac, & had the same problem as she did. I am on Zoloft now, & still have the same issue just not as severe. I know many people get sick from these meRAB, but I have not had a problem with the Zoloft.

I have gained weight too. Is this water weight? The Buspar has helped with the sexual side effects but I need more help there. These questions will be asked at my next appt with is this month.

I just started lexapro (cipralix -- same thing) and so far I've been dizzy, headachey, my appetite has decreased even further from the wellbutrin's appetite suppressant side effect and my blood sugars have gone up (still in normal range, but they're mid-high normal instead of low normal) (I'm diabetic).

I've been taking klonopin as well and I haven't been OVERLY tired so that's a plus!

Its hard for me to say if the stuff helps. Ive taken paxil and I wanted to drink booze every day until I blacked out. I switched to lexapro and seemed to do alright until I started getting bad panic attacks. So I went to Cyrabalta.

I tried to get off all of them but the withdrawl is beyond horrible. Its a nightmare that makes me physically VERY VERY ill.

I dont think SSRI's are worth taking to be honest. Im stuck taking this crap for the rest of my life because my brain cant function without em. :(

I was on Lexapro for my anxiety and due to the side effects I decided to get myself off of it. All I would do is sleep in bed all day and have no motivation. My energy dwindled and their were days I would go without taking baths. Since I had no energy and was so tired and felt "blah" I missed several of my college classe and failed them. Now that I'm off Lexapro I feel much better and not like a walking zorabie. The medicine was controlling my every move, and I will never put anything ever in my system like that again no matter what the psychiatrist says.

Thanks. The meRAB actually made me really sick last night. it's kinda hard to think it could do that after just one dose, but i'm not taking it again till i call my doctor.

I'm in college to and my symptoms are so bad that i've missed a lot of class already. Thankfully most of my professors are very understanding, but i may just medical withdraw from the semester so i can get myself better.

Okay, three days into lexapro and I'm SOOOOO tired. This stuff wears me out worse than the paxil did. I passed out earlier this evening after dragging my butt all day and I was so tired I didn't wake up for supper and my blood sugars went dangerously low. Thankfully I woke up and realized I needed to eat something sweet FAST. I'm still tired beyond belief.

If this is a continuing trend I'm not staying on lexapro. This is insane! My p-doc said to take it in the morning...well I woke up all rested and refreshed and about a half hour after I took it I was very drowsy. So, screw taking it in the morning, I'm taking it at night.

I wonder why some dr say take lexapro in the am and others say pm. I witched to pm and am doing much better.
