14. In statutory rape cases, in most jurisdictions, a reasonable mistake as to the victim’s age is
A. not a defense.
B. a defense if the victim is older than the offender.
C. a defense if the victim was over 10.
D. not a defense if the victim is under 16.

I am kind of confused by this question. I found something that said if the adult is less than 3yrs older than the offender that charges could be nullified or reduced, but as I said I am just kind of confused?!
 
The answer is A. If not every pedophile would just say oh, I'm sorry I made a mistake!
 
The correct answer is "A", not a defense.

You are correct also, there are lesser penalties in many jurisdictions when the ages ares close. However, that takes into consideration the ages of both the offender and the victim.

Your question only asks about the victims age, not the offender

According to this link, mistake to age is never an acceptable defense to a statutory rape case.
