Law Enforcement careers and military reserve deployments?

Is there any truth to the possibility that since Police Departments work around the clock and sometimes on rotating schedules, they would try to throw out a qualified applicant because of the scheduling nightmare of monthly drills and the possibility of a year long deployment?

Also, does anyone know of any federal law enforcement officers who serve as reservists? They often report that those working government jobs assimilate best back into their working careers after deployments. I always assumed they meant law enforcement but do PDs and federal agencies (I don't necessarily mean special agents..but rather FBI police for example) shy away from picking up reservists?

Most Agencies give your credit over other applicants for being in the military. I am in the National Guard now and work with my Dept. They give me 30 days a year to attend military drills and what not. I also have a cousin and a brother in law that are federal agents and both are in the national guard. Most Federal agencies don't like for you to be in the guard during the initial training and enlistment cause you are moved around so much and it complicates things for the guard and reserves but once you are off you probationary status, the agencies don't mind you serving in the military reserves. They may not be enthusiastic or your commanding officer may not be thrilled on both sides the Law Enforcement agency or the Military cause of missing work for drills or missing drills for work
