Laugh tracks what do you think?

I don't mind them when they're used on a show that's actually taped in front of an audience, and the laughter is genuine, like Seinfeld. But when it's canned (and even worse when it's blatantly canned, like when Comedy Central showed Sports Night), it's unbearable.

Was Seinfeld taped in front of an audience? For years, I thought Scooby-Doo and Flintstones were actually being shown in front of audiences.

Yes, though with most any sitcom, certain scenes couldn't feasibly be taped in front of an audience (like outdoor scenes where the sky is visible) so the laughter was recorded later by an audience watching the action on monitors.

Anyone know the episode of Family Guy I'm talking about where Peter starts a line and the audience interrupts him with laughter? I'm almost positive it was from the first three seasons, if that helps. I'm drawing a blank on it.
