first - Hispanic and Latin American are not the same thing.
Hispanic means of Spanish descent. Mexicans are the most likely to say they are Hispanic. Many culture and customs there have to do with Catholicism, and you hear about siestas, and day of the dead, cinco de mayo, mariachi bands, pinatas
Latin American does have Spanish culture but it is more greatly embeded with native and african cultures.
Each nation of people is different.
The Dominican Republic catholic religion, lots of dancing, lots of music in general, (bachata, merengue, reggaeton) wonderful food, - arroz con habichuelas, lemon fish, mangu, specific traditions for holidays - ie carnavale,
I cant speak as well for other nations, but Puerto Rico may be similar to the DR but Argentina is different from the two of them and different than Guatemala, etc.
