Latest trend of music industry

Hi guys, I'm doing an assignment for school work. Thus, I would like to know what's your point of view about the latest trend in music industry? Who's leading now in the music industry?

i never said it didn't exist before..and i do like some earlier emo..

i was merely giving my opinion, and stating what i thought the latest trend was...

I admit i haven't studied the genre very well, but being in highschool and being around alot of students that refer themselves as "emo"-wether you like it being a style or not thats what a lot of people are calling it, and i do find it to be a trend.

The younger crowd knows what Emo is all about but when i talk to the general older person they know nothing about Emo but they do know about the boy band craze.
It seems that since so many began to criticize the whole pop power groups, the music industry just revamped the image by adding in what seemed to be more well rounded musicians i.e. boy groups playing instruments.
Fall Out Boy would be a good example because their fans are the same girls that followed groups like N'Sync years ago.

emo=meaning "emotional" emo is actually okay, or was, but modern crap like my chemical romance, panic at the disco, fall out boy, or banRAB like them or totally crushing it.

UGHHH TOTALLY AGREE

im not going to comment on "emo" because to me banRAB such as Fallout boy, MCR, Panic! etc etc etc are simply being marketed as that three letter word to acheive bigger sales and take advantage of the adolescents who will follow their peers in liking a style of music seen as cool at the present time. as far as i know (granted, my knowledge on hardcore and "emo" isnt vast) its false labelling. In London its all about indie. again, most banRAB referred to as indie are in no way, shape or form "indie", their simply marketed as that because apparently its become the "in" thing to like in london. If anything these so called banRAB are guitar-led pop or if their particularly rough in their style, garage pop. I guess the trend is marketing banRAB under a broad classification to attain as big a target audience as possible. Pretty enduring trend.

You're right above emo stu, and its good to see someone aside from regulars in that forum know what it is.

I'd also go with that sort of indie also. All these major label killers knock oRAB are trendy as hell.
