Latest Sony Ericsson Upgrade

I thought I was clever by doing the latest upgrades from the Sony website. The problem I have now is that I can't delete the locked files. I'm with Rogers and I can't stand having their stupid tune play whenever I turn the phone on or off. I managed to stop that from playing before the upgrade and now it's back to playing again.

My second problem is that the phone no longers recognizes the ringtones I created. I had to use a DRM packager to put them on my phone.

Does anyone know how I can get my phone back to the way it was? Or at least change the ringtones again? All the rest of the features are fine. I just want to ringtones changed.

I think you debranded your phone, and then when you come to upgrading it, you branded it again.

Search on google on how to debrand the w580i (if this is your phone) and you should get some help
 
I tried rebranding it using the SEtools2lte, but I kept getting an error message withing the first 5 seconds. It said it couldn't create the files. I'm assuming i'm doing something wrong. After trying for a good 1/2 hour, I've given up for the day. I'll just have to keep my mobile on silent for now.

There is a way you can remove both the startup tons and the locked files, which involves a program called FAR Manager with the JDFlasher plugin. The only problem is that it's not an entirely safe application if you don't know what you're doing (You can end up killing off your phone).
 
Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not willing to take the risk. I've already had enough problems with my mobile provider. Plus if I can't even get SE tools to work, I get the feeling I'll bugger up with a riskier program.
