Latest 80's TV show to get the film treatment _ The Professionals

I'm not sure about this one. Like The Sweeney, it was of it's time.
The only thing going for it is it will be set in Britain and not another buddy cop film in the US like so many others.

I guess it's time for the inevitable question. Why should play Doyle, Bodie and Cowley?

I would ditch two of the three characters and have new characters for the two main leaRAB.
If he were up for it I would replace Cowley with Doyle played by Martin Shaw for continuity. If he didn't want to do it, which I doubt he would then i would see if Lewis Collins would be up for taking the post in his old character Bodie.

I'd like to see a double team with Hugh Grant and Colin Firth as Bodie and Doyle. With my Uncle Jim as Cowley (he's the spitting image).

The updated 90's remake was a disaster that even ITV refused to show so why bother with it again?

It's like the 60's series they keep trying to reinvent .
They were a combo of the right cast and the right style at the right time.

The Professionals stood out at the time but today it's premise is ordinary and only the cast carry it.

A remake as pointless as The Prisoner and The Persuaders
