They don't represent every New Yorker. ;) In fact, what makes you think that they are all New Yorkers?

Speaking as a native New Yorker and a female, I get the general feeling that many are sympathetic towarRAB Dave Letterman. They (and this includes me) realize that they don't know the full extent of the relationships. Do they think that he used poor judgment? To quote the moron Sarah Palin, 'you betcha'. Those who are taking pot shots at DL are those who never liked him. The Sarah Palin kooks are using this scandal to further their hate-fueled message (whatever that message may be).

The New York Post, well this a right wing paper. One can't trust anything coming out of that crap. This is the same Murdoch newspaper that approved showing a caricature of a gorilla with bullet holes in him and comparing it to our current President. In fact, it is one of the many racist images and/or comments that come out of that rag.

No one seems to be focussing on the extortionist when discussing the whole thing. His lawyer is going after Letterman and making the rounRAB in the media to do it. While I know that it is his job to defend his client, he comes across as someone who just hit the lottery in terms of gaining a high profile case.

Below is the New York Daily News and their reporting of the scandal. If you scroll down to the middle, you'll find a section devoted to everything Letterman and this mess. I do find it interesting reading the various opinions, pros and cons, related to this. I wonder if this whole mess will make it onto an episode of Law & Order. ;)

Thanks Tommy.

No I only just about managed to pluck up the courage to ask him for a photo let alone anything else. :D

Guest change for the big Christmas show! Maggie Gyllenhaal won't be on the Christmas show - she's now booked in for Monday's show instead. Alec Baldwin will take her place on the Christmas show. So the full guest lineup for the 23rd December will be Alec Baldwin, Jay Thomas, Darlene Love.

Some other changes too - Shannon Eis has been added as a guest on tonight's show (the toy expert - always hilarious when she's showing Dave the new Christmas toys) and Tobey Maguire is booked in for Friday's show (I thought he didn't like Dave for some reason?).

:)

Monday 14th December

The article is interesting, but frankly, all speculation.
There's only one person who knows how long the Show will go on for, and that is Letterman himself.
CBS arent gonna force Dave out, even after the recent "turmoil", it would be a major embarassment for them if they sided against their own star.
Only time will tell if any lasting damage has been done to Daves "act" ie, his inability to mock others due to his own behaviour.
I think that the interesting aspect of this whole scenario, is that Dave now has an achilles heel, and if anything, it will have him more on his guard and therefore inventive when making fun of others!
If anyone can do this, Letterman can
Good Luck Dave!

Just watching the Ricky Gervais film The Invention Of Lying (on amazing download-o-vision!) and who should pop up in the first 10 minutes but Lyle The Intern!

You guys are the only people I know would appreciate such news!

"If the roof collapses, the audience will be going home in body-bags!!!"
Arties' warning to Larry when he insists on doing the show even after an earthquake warning.:)

I honestly thought that in the back of my mind, they'll recind the decision or that it was just a prank to boost ratings.

NBC are idiots. Jay looks like the heel now. I do hope ratings on his new new 11.35 show reflect the contempt most viewers have of him and NBC.

You sort of felt bad for Dave when, after working for NBC for 10 years following Carson every night that he should have gotten the Tonight show job back in 1993, but didn't

Now we have a situation where there's a guy who has followed Jay every night for 16 years, and then actually got the job on the Tonight show, then looses it! I feel bad for conan. hope he quits. NBC don't value him or his show. I don't like Fox too much, but he's got to make a decision.

what an absolute shambles. Zucker should have his head checked.

poor harry letterman!!!

big story in London lite and madonna story in london Metro, im waiting desperately for both the admitting and madonna shows to come up!!!

this is pretty bad news for dave, didn't know he would do such things, but i suppose you never know what goes on behind closed doors :/

I put a clip on the old thread because Stern was THAT good.
"I dont like Leno-I never liked Leno, the guy was reading off cue carRAB-wheres the emotion?
Heres the only host you need!!" (points at Dave)
Letterman seemed REALLY appreciative of Sterns Leno bashing!:)

Just watching this week's shows, and Dave's voice sounRAB absolutely shot to pieces! It seriously sounRAB like he's coming down with bronchitis or something, he can hardly speak.

Bet he's glad for the 'vacation week' coming up next week!

Chris Rock is absolutely hilarious though.

The show was amazing. :D

It was the Thanksgiving show so there was a live linkup with Dave's Mom and Dave was guessing the pies as he does every year. :)

Adam Lambert was good as well - which I wasn't really expecting.

The question someone in the audience asked Dave before the show was "Are you going on the road??" and Dave said "The act is barely working here". :D She got a mention in the show though. :)

A few references to Dave spending Thanksgiving with his family - Natalie Portman asked him where he was spending Thanksgiving (after all the recent affairs :D).

Look out for me in the audience - I was sitting in a similar position as before - downstairs on the side where Alan sits. I'm wearing my Letterman sweatshirt!

Also, I got a picture with Rupert. :)

Will post more soon.

cheers for that. I like it when Martin Short just turns up :)

They should have had Chevy Chase show up, too :) haha

I'm currently on 27.08.09. I've already watched selected shows from september and october, as you can imagine :)
