Late Show with David Letterman (Part 2)

The Bruce Willis ep is being rerun-Maybe someone will cap it?
Regarding downloading RAR files-It doesnt bother me one bit, as all you need to do is run it through the converter and it's done.
Takes 30 secs that's all!:)

I dunno if this is old or common news, but I thought I'd mention it...
Larry Sanders manager, Artie (Rip Torn) 78, was arrested recently in the US for alledgedly trying to rob a bank whilst drunk!!!!!!
Larry fans (such as myself) should be interested in this bizarre piece of news.
Non-Larry fans, (but Late Night Talk Show devotees) should seriously look into this Show-IMO The GREATEST piece of television EVER!!!

Hahahaha. Dave's cooking segments are always hilarious. I remember watching this one. His Martha Stewart segment was good too when he said he didn't feel like taking part in the cooking activities. :D

I've uploaded the full Paul Shaffer interview to YouTube if anyone hasn't seen it yet - really interesting and funny interview.

Part One - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JdZewMh5LQ

Part Two - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyrYWSKYA24

Watched a few episodes last night - the 5th October one with Steve & Martin Short was hilarious (good double-act), the 6th October one with Paul Shaffer was excellent and the 7th October one with Vince Vaughn was also very good.

On the 5th October episode it was funny watching Dave doing jokes about himself and asking everyone if they had a good weekend as his one seemed to drag a bit. :D

I only have 7 episodes left to watch then I'm up to date for the first time in ages. :D

I am grateful for the episodes that do appear. I am well aware that a fair bit of time and
effort is required to capture and upload these shows. If there was only ever one person
taking that time and effort to do this, I wouldn't mind as much ... but there are several
cappers of these shows, so there isn't really much excuse, if any, for all of them to
miss capping a particular episode of a show. If, for whatever reason, one person
is unable to cap it, surely one of the others could cap it.

"The Late Show with David Letterman", hasn't been on TV here in the UK for quite some
time now, and likelihood of it returning to any free-to-air TV channels here is very low.

I've tried that, using the search term letterman 2010 04 kelsey grammer, and variations
thereof, and got this message: No results containing all your search terms were found.
Your query ... did not match any files. Check the spelling of your terms. You could
also try using different or more general terms.

Unfortunately, it ain't on Filestube. I've even checked newsgroups, it ain't there either!

Ah, the New York Post, owned by that bastion of family values Rupert Murdoch. Who left his wife for a much younger woman who worked for one of his TV channels, incidentally.

Nice to see that they're still getting the Sarah Palin joke story wrong as well - he didn't refer to either daughter, but was talking about Bristol Palin, not Willow. Unlike a Murdoch rag not to check its facts....

I feel sorry for the whole Letterman family. Obviously, it's not nice for Regina, but it can't be much fun being the target of a blackmail plot either.

Wonder whether this will impact on Dave cracking jokes about politicans having affairs, such as his Spitzer and Clinton jokes though.

EDIT:

Woah. Just been reading more about this. Dave's blackmailer is a former boyfriend of one of the women he slept with. Who used to live with the blackmailer? The lovely Stephanie.

This would certainly explain why Steph seemed to just disappear from the show after having a regular starring role for some years.

Well ... if NBC are taking a big step backwarRAB with The Tonight Show, it would make sense
for a few cosmetic improvements to the LS set, which was first introduced almost 14 years
ago ... sometime in May 1996. (IIRC there was a week (or two) of re-runs, and a week
(or two) of new shows taped in the lobby of the Ed Sullivan Theater building).

If it weren't for the very real possibility that Dave may be retiring sometime within the next
few years, then another new set would be long overdue by now. I imagine that'll be left
until after Dave retires, and his eventual successor takes over the show.

Hello from New York!

I've got Letterman tickets for one of the shows today!

Because of Thanksgiving they are taping two shows today and one show tomorrow.

I'm going to the second show today which is the one that airs on Wednesday night (We 11/25: Natalie Portman, Adam Lambert).

I managed to get them through the ballot. :)

It tapes 6pm-7pm today. :)

Can't wait!

Hey, you're clever - never realised you could link to IPlayer with a specific playback start time reference? Is that new or am I just slow? Can you capture the reference or do you just edit the /?t=NNmNNs ?

I really don't know what went on or when. I do know he was notoriously reluctant to marry again, and they weren't 'together' in a 'live-in' monogonous relationship until much later, so...at least it's complicated.

Some good guests coming up (w/c 14th looks like the Brits are taking over, with Jude Law, Leona Lewis and Hugh Grant all scheduled!). Hope Amy Sedaris puts in an appearance before the end of the year though.
