There was a show on TV between the late 90s and early 2000s about a girl, who wore a pearl necklace, she went to school and had a friend how took pictures for the school newspaper-he had glasses and braces and was a huge nerd. The theme song for the show is sung by the main character. I can remember one episode where they submitted a song to a record company and another girl stole it and won.
