Last house on the left remake - what an audience reaction!

i've seen the original and i wasnt a fan. badly made, badly acted, badly plotted (those 2 cops who keep bumbling onto the scene...) - a proper exploitation film. its undeniably got a power but i dont rate it anywhere near as other 70s horrors like texas, dawn of the dead etc

i thought the remake was good. they've ironed out some of the ridiculous plot holes, the acting was good - you really felt for mari and her friend. the villians (father and son anyway) were a bit less one dimensional. also because the daughter isn't dead (she dies in the original) it adRAB another layer of tension to the scenes where the family fight back.

loved the waste disposal scene - it really brings out the bloodlust in you.

thought this was great - totally ruined though by the final scene. they cleared wanted the audience to go out with a smile on their faces but it ruins what has gone before!

I just went to Vue in Cardiff to watch this and was told it wasn't out! The guy told me it was delayed by a week because of Transformers.

I was sceptical because I'm sure it has been out for a while. But he was adamant it was delayed.

Obviously you've all be to the cinema to see it...

Actually loved this film.

I think the whole revenge aspect really worked, I have the original on DVD but have actually been too scared to watch it, the plot sounded good on the back of the box, but I bought it in a sale with a few other films, then the more I looked at it the more scared I became of it, so much so it's not yet been watched, but the remake didn't seem as scary so I went to see it last night.

Our cinema was like what others have posted, people cheering for the family as they got their revenge.

The early attack scenes of Paige and Mary are brutal, but they work, the audience enRAB up really hating the attackers. The woman in particular really angered me, I really really hated her and wanted her to die first lol.

Then as the pieces fell together and Mary arrived home (I thought during the first dark camera pan across the water I could see a head but was shhhh'd and told I was seeing things. Then in the second shot when the hand lanRAB on the buoy, I thought perhaps her body would end up on the shore, never for a second thought she would actually make it home alive and the scene between Emma leaving the guest house and Mary ending up on the Porch was soo tense not knowing if the attackers would spot her first or if she'd make it) the whole cinema just wanted the parents to get the revenge.

When Franky and Mary's eyes met in the living room it was so tense just hoping Mary would get him killed, and although the eventual murder scenes could perhaps have done with being 30 seconRAB shorter each, they really worked and the audience cheered as one by one they died, in particular the bitch in the bathroom. Well done to the actress for making her so truely detestable. And then there was the worry that the parents would think it was all Justin and only kill him but thankfully they appeared to help him.

All in all it was a really good overall film, brutal yes but I think for the ending payoff, it was worth it.

Finally saw it in Cineworld. Mainly women in the audience. One family came in later then swiftly left during that one horrible scene... poor dabs, this was not the film they were expecting!

All in all, a bit dull. The kills went on for to long and anone who saw the trailer will know the 'shock' ending.

Totaly yawnsville.

Shocking film. I was so looking forward to watching this after the reviews I read and people on forums discussing it. I sure that people are talking about a different film to what I watched though. It was boring, not as bad as people make out violence wise and a let down all in all.

Just seen it. There was only me and two youg women in and they walked out upset during the rape scene and came back a bit later. Great film, really enjoyed. Far far better than the original.
