As a math rock fan, I am used to the concept of banRAB losing their math. some banRAB do it well, but Foals went the pitchfork-core indie route and just became a "meh" band for me. But yet again, I'm not a fan of indie so my opinion may be a little off.

Also, I know this wasn't directed to me but I just had to say something.

Top 15 from the past 7 days:

1. Grizzly Bear (56)
Just can't get enough of the six amazing songs on this album. Wish the rest were a bit above average though...but I'm playing the whole thing each time, hoping they'll improve.

2. Squarepusher (44)
Reconnecting with some older albums I didn't spend enough time with in the past (Music is Rotted One Note and Budakhan Mindphone), what a treat it is. I also played Selection Sixteen which I was already more familiar with.

3. Pennywise (37)
Minor binge the other night...I was listening to Pelican and then Pennywise came on so I just let a few albums roll for old times' sake.

4. Download (26)
One of my favs...these guys have a new album out this year and POSSIBLY EVEN A TOUR!!!

4. Odd Nosdam (26)
This guy's awesome, and No More Wig for Ohio is my favorite of his albums. I haven't spent much time with his cLOUDDEAD because I can only take so much of Dose One's vocals...but I dig the production. So I'll stick to Odd's solo stuff.

6. Autechre (25)
Again, reconnecting with some older albums I overlooked back in the day, LP5 and EP7, which as it turns out may be my favorite work of theirs.

7. Drive Like Jehu (21)
Little binge continues...

8. Swell Maps (18)
I've had A Trip to Marineville in rotation for a while. Pretty good 79 British punk album, though the second half gets too experimental compared to the upbeat and punk first half...so I could do with just the first half and maybe a couple of the experimentals.

8. The Dukes of Stratosphear (18)
Girlfriend has this CD, and a track caught my ear a few months ago, sounding like a late 60s song by The Kinks. Rather, it's a pseudonym of XTC (who I'm not even a fan of) created during a creative lull as a homage to 60s psychedelic pop.

10. Meat Puppets (16)
Still groovin on Meat Puppets II, think I'll put it away for a while now though. Soon I'll check out one of the others.

11. Tortoise (15)
New album still in rotation, and gave TNT a spin today while sitting by the lake and soaking in the rays during my lunch break.

11. Keaver & Brause (15)
Might have mentioned them last week...new electronic artist(s) sounding like a more sun-drenched version of Flying Lotus. In other worRAB, like a mixture of BoarRAB of Canada and Flying Lotus. It's pretty enjoyable, despite having obvious influences (those other two had their influences as well...).

11. Tobacco (15)
This solo project from a meraber of Black Moth Super Rainbow (a band that doesn't really appeal to me at this point) caught my eye months and months ago and I finally got around to listening to it. I quite enjoyed it. I'm not really sure how to describe it...electronic of course, and pretty smooth, at times sounding like some chill trip-hop or instrumental hip-hop, but not for the course of the entire album.

14. Hot Snakes (14)
Little binge continues...and I'm looking into some other John Reis projects as well.

15. Boxcutter (13)
Finally got the new disc in the mail, even though I'd listened to it on mp3 3 or 4 time already.

15. Hose.Got.Cable (13)
Little known but highly influencial post-hardcore/math rock band from Richmond, VA. Just discovered them this week, but already forgot how. Interesting and intense album.

15. New Radiant Storm King (13)
Got into these guys a few months ago, an overlooked 90s indie rock band that sounRAB at times like Polvo and Pavement mixed together.

15. eR DoN (13)
Mentioned him already...Seattle-based jazzy trip-hop producer, awesome album. It pays to check the local labels' online shops once in a while.
