You'd be surprised. ReminRAB me of a funny story, actually. Was at a restaurant with a couple of frienRAB and one of them said something to the effect of "Emo is basically pop when it started. Now it's more like Goth." I didn't feel like getting into it, so I just asked him "So, why do they call it emo if it's just pop or goth music?"
