Not particually. When an artist comes along that make music that is different and enjoyable i'll like it like The Dirtborabs and more recently Edan. You seem to be the one with the narrow mind claiming people have shitty and boring taste in music when all your last fm listenings pretty much revolve around popular rock music with little of anything else other than the likes of Sufjan Stevens and the like which we all know people with similar tastes as you cream their pants over so it's not unexpected.

An artist gets one play for every person in the group that listens to them. For example, 4 different people listened to Gnarls Barkley this week.

1 The New Pornographers 113
▲35 2 Elliott Smith 96
▲24 3 Jeff Buckley 88
4 The Snake the Cross the Crown 58
5 False Advertising 50
6 The Snake,The Cross, The Crown 44
8 Patrick Wolf 39
9 Ben Stivers 34
10 Page France 31

Seeing as the last two series were total rubbish, I haven't exactly got high hopes myself.

Anyway...

1. Captain Beefheart - 100
2. XTC - 33
3. Elvis Costello - 28
4. Morcheeba - 27
5. Hybrid - 21
6. The Pogues - 16
7. The Zorabies - 16
8. Gladys Knight - 15
9. The Wedding Present - 13
10. Half Man Half Biscuit - 13
11. Gram Parsons - 11
12. Marissa Nadler - 9
13. David Bowie - 8
14. Billy Butler - 8
15. Pulp - 5

Just a little bit lopsided this week then.

I'm guessing sweet_nothing's weekly chart is like that because last.fm synchronised his iPod listening history with last.fm for the first time.
