Don't throw the generic mock typing at me just yet. One of the big ideas of punk was a whole DIY ethic not to mention you didnt have to be a good guitar player or a great singer, so I usually overlook those flaws when listening to punk banRAB, I mean because they are PUNK BANRAB I didnt think having a finely tuned voice mattered. Also It's John Lydon, criticizing him for having a bad voice is like criticizing a a cake for being sweet, it's kinda the point.

i'm surprised no one else is doing this, it's pretty fun

The Shins-One by One All Day
-i haven't took the time to hear this band before, but listening to them now, i think i should have. very gentle and melodic in vocals/guitar, while at the same time, the drumming has an almost firce and primal edge. i'll definately be checking this band out later.

Nirvana-Smells Like Teen Spirit
-Oh God. All I have to say. X(

Gorilaz-Feel Good Inc.
i really like this band as well as this song. goood stuff.

Syd Barret-Octopus
-this is the first time i've ever heard any Syd Barret. definately some lyrics to wrap my head around. also makes me feel like i'm at the carnival for some reason, as well as some good 60's influence

David Bowie-Space Oddity
-David Bowie is the sh*t, but this isn't one of my favorite songs by him. still, it's a great tune.

overall i liked it, good stuff :)

Wire - It's So Obvious
I've been meaning to get into this type of stuff more, and Wire is one of the banRAB I want to check out. I like this track, and I think I'll have to look into them.

James Chance & The Contortions - My Infatuation
Didn't like very much. It had some good moments, but I didn't find it all that enjoyable.

IAMX - Song Of Imaginary Beings
Very dreamy. I will have to remeraber to look into this. Enjoyed it very much.

My Bloody Valentine - Soft As Snow (But Warm Inside)
I only have Loveless, but as I can hear by this track, their other stuff isn't all bad either. Enjoyable.

Kraftwerk - Trans Europe Express
Some people here seem to dig them, and I can see why. I also enjoyed this.

The Mars Volta - L'Via L'Viaquez
I love everything about this song, from the passionate vocals to the sparse guitar to the intense rhythm section to the lush production (obviously I've heard it before). 5/5

FielRAB - Parasite
It was ok, the instrumentation was more interesting than most banRAB of it's kind. Girl's voice was kind of annoying though. 3/5

Explosions in the Sky - Day Two
Didn't do much for me. Post-rock seems to rely on the mood of the music rather than hooks and such, so it either catches you or it doesn't. 2.5/5

Goo Goo Dolls - Here Is Gone
Heard it before, it's boring as ever. 2/5

Depeche Mode - Halo
Great subtle use of dissonance and drum machines. 4/5

Thing is, he never said the vocals sucked. He said he didn't like them. There's a big difference. There are many talented singers I can't stand, and many ****ty ones I enjoy. Whether it's punk or any other genre...it's all about whether it pleases your ear or not. I don't particularly care for Sex Pistols either, and while I had never really thought about why, the vocals could very well be a reason. They've just never appealed to me.

Anyway...sorry to go off topic. I'll review someone's stuff tomorrow but it's time for bed.

The album that track is from, Avatar, is really good you should check it out.

Comus-Diana
-ah, i also have First Utterance, and it's quite possibly one of my favorite albums. really. this is also one of my favorite songs off of it, good stuff :yeah:

Weezer-In The Garage
-i also have the Blue Album, haha. kind of a nice, straight rock song. really a nice listen

Camille-La jeune fille aux cheveux blancs
-first time hearing this artist. the instrumentation is pretty interesting, and she has a nice voice. the way this song is actually makes me thin of the first song "Diana". bit of an influence perhaps?

The Smiths-I Want the One I Can't Have
-Morrissey's voice is just hypnotizing. i could listen to him sing all day really. I'll definately be checking out Meat is Murder after this.

Prince & The Revolution-When Doves Cry
-while i definately respect Prince as an artist, sometimes he straight freaks me right the f*ck out. still this is a great song from him, one of his best really.

Antonio's

Aerosmith "Walk This Way"
I don't really like Aerosmith, I think they're a fairly boring and generic classic rock band aside from a couple songs. This riff is really good though, I'll give them that.

Dyssrhythmia "Running Shoe Of Justice"
Real chill kind of prog metal stuff. It gets a little repetetive and boring after a while though.

Micheal Jackson "Rock With You"
I like Micheal's big hits, but I found this one kinda boring. His voice is too quiet.

Kyuss "One Inch Man"
Kyuss are pretty chillax, yet uncomfortable sounding. I like. Catchy too, very nice.

Superjoint Ritual "F**k Your Enemy"
At last I hear this band. I've always thought that their name is really stupid and lame... and guess what? So is their music. Overly angry tough guy metal. I don't want to hear it.

Billy Club- Lagwagon
Fun and catchy. No other comments. Probably not something I'd listen to but definately not bad.
Walkin'- Ten foot poll
eh. Probably last.fm refusing to play the good songs.
Buffalo Gals- Every time I die.
I liked the singer. But other than that meh.
Go Away- Teenage Bottlerocket
Kinda Ramonesey, I like it.
One Brick- Aesop Rock
Aesop Rock.

Deltron 3030-Time Keeps on Slipping
i've heard some really good things about this band, and their s/t seems like an interesting venture. this song is a chill instrumental, and i can dig it. 4/5

System of a Down-QUESTION!
My favorite SOAD song. and i have all their albums. tbh, i never got the hype over Toxicity. imo, it lacked a bit of the creativity in structure the band had with other releases. hell, i think even Mezmerize was better. anyways back to the song, both beautiful and brutal as well as just offbeat in a good way. 5/5

Rodney Crowell-Time to go Inward
I've never really been into singer-songwriters. idk, while there are plenty of good ones, i haven't been that interested in lyrics or singing that much. even so, this song is pretty good, has a good folky edge to it. 3.5/5

MF Doom-Poo-Putt Platter
hahaha i really like this, the use of samples is just ingenious. i should get some stuff by this guy. 5/5

Queen-God Save the Queen
aww yeah, some Queen for the topper. Night at the Opera is a fantastic album, although A Day at the Races is my personal fave.

Placeholder for Alfred's.

A song for Milly Michaelson-Thrice
Eww post AITA thrice

God save The Queen-Sex Pistols
Favorite Pistols song, but still not very good.

Rescue-Echo & The bunnymen
Another song I've heard before. Pretty good though. I just love Echo's vocals.

The Wife The KiRAB, and The white Picket Fence-Fair To Midland
A band I should really be into, but never actually heard them before. i'll be checking them out though. Right up my alley.

The seduction-He Is Legend
another band I've been meaning to get into. Doesn't really sound like Maylene or ETID, but really great stuff.

B+

Stars of Warburton - Midnight Oil
Not too bad, but I'm not really a fan of Garrett's vocals.

I A Rebel Soul - Aswad
Kind of like this, I don't normally like reggae much, but this is kinda cool.

Green Flower Street - Donald ***en
It's alright, kinda funky.

Free Fallin' - Tom Petty
Lol this song...

Gratitude - Paul McCartney
Sorry, I'm biased against Paul and I'm not going to give this song a chance. :(

Giggy Smile-Faust
Really not my style.

Mutterlien-Nico
Never really got into her stuff that wasn't with VU.

Is It In My Head-The Who
Never got into the who.

Here Comes The Warm Jets-Brian Eno
Better then the first three.

The Flow-Prince and the New Power Band
Great track. By far the best of the five.
